The moment we walked into the place, we felt right at home. The perfect blend of old world colonial and modern Scandinavian design.  There are lots of stuff on display and for sale including a very chic cafe with good coffee and bites.

I just love old colonial era buildings, lots of height and space!

We were allocated a cozy corner to setup our mini workshop and in no time the participants has arrived. We began with a brief presentation about the ancient origins of colour and dyeing, as well as the benefits when compared to current chemical processes which is detrimental to both your health and the environment.

We then continued with the fun part, the actual tie dyeing! Tie dyeing is an ancient Japanese art-form where fabrics are tied with rope and dyed to create intricate patterns. Like batik, where wax is used to prevent the fabric from absorbing dye, tie dyeing uses the knots created in the fabric to achieve the same effect.
